A joyful collaboration between two schools
To celebrate International Children’s Book Day, the K3 students of La Petite École Hanoi were invited to join the K3 class of Hanoi Academy International Bilingual School for a very special morning of reading, creativity, and cross-school friendship. This project beautifully reflects our core values, aligned with those promoted by the AEFE – Agency for French Education Abroad.
Story time: Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers
he day began with a shared storytelling session featuring the heartwarming book Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers. The children listened attentively to the story of friendship between a boy and a lost penguin. A group discussion followed, exploring key themes such as friendship, helping others, and adventure — a great opportunity to enrich both their listening comprehension and oral expression in both French and English.
After the story, the students got creative with an Arts & Crafts activity, making their own bouncing penguins! With guidance from teachers from both schools, the children cut, glued, decorated, and proudly brought their penguins to life. This hands-on session encouraged fine motor skills, creativity, and focus, all in a fun and inclusive atmosphere.
A morning of friendship and discovery
The morning wrapped up with outdoor free play, giving the children a chance to continue bonding and enjoying each other’s company. This joyful collaboration is a great example of our approach to international early childhood education, blending the French curriculum with rich multicultural experiences that support the overall development of every child.
We warmly thank Hanoi Academy for their kind welcome, the dedicated teaching teams from both schools for their efforts, and of course the children for their enthusiastic participation! This shared moment will remain a beautiful memory filled with learning and laughter.
